The story of Element 29 Vodka is one that touches almost every corner of England but if you’re called Angela you might not like how it ends...

Our tale begins with the finest wheat grown on the flatlands of East Anglia. This golden grain is transported to Lancashire where it is mashed malted and fermented into a strong malt liquor. Before leaving Manchester it’s distilled at least seven times. The exceptionally pure spirit then heads to Langley Distillery just outside Birmingham where it’s distilled once more though an ancient pot still. She is called Angela and she was made in London in 1903 by John Dore & Co a company established by the legendary Aeneas Coffey and widely considered to be the Rolls Royce of distillery engineers. Finally our spirit heads to the Weald of Sussex where it’s brought to bottling strength with the sweet local spring water.

Despite that epic journey the biggest contributing factor to this incredible vodka’s smoothness and distinctive character is Angela. Disappointingly for anyone called Angela or anyone with a friend or family member called Angela they decided not to call it Angela. Instead they named it after the metal she was hammered from copper. That precious metal with the atomic number 29 gently purifies the vodka leaving nothing behind but a sense of sweet and buttery caramel peppery spice creamy custard and a pinch of aniseed.

Element 29 Vodka makes a stunning Dirty Martini (the natural sweetness balancing the wonderfully grubby saltiness) and an even better vodka and tonic. We raise a glass in salute of anyone called Angela.
