Cocktail of the Month August

There are few cocktails more refreshing in the height of summer than the classic Hugo Spritz. With its alluring mix of elderflower, prosecco, lime and mint evoking warm August evenings, it makes for an appealing aperitivo. Now, French elderflower liqueur-maker, St-Germain, has given a fresh twist to the sparkling cocktail, replacing traditional cordial with its unique taste. Each bottle of the botanical French spirit contains the essence of up to a thousand white flowers of the elderflower tree, handpicked at their peak in late May. With a natural sweetness and hints of honeysuckle and pear, the result is a light, finely-balanced flavour as soothing as a gentle breeze on a hot summer night. The St-Germain Hugo Spritz cocktail, in partnership with St-Germain, is available 1 – 31 August at Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge, Leeds, OXO, Edinburgh and Bristol, as part of our Cocktail of the Month series.
