RosaMati is a rare Tuscan rosé from the renowned winemaker Elisabetta Geppetti of Fattoria Le Pupille which is crafted using pure Syrah grown on the coast in Maremma. 10% of the cuvée is matured briefly in new acacia wood barrels layering a prickle of exotic spice over the redcurrant cherry raspberry sorbet cranberry blossom pink pepper and Sicilian lemon flavours.
This feisty wine was named after Rosa Mati a strongminded lady and the first in the family to recognise the potential of Maremma. Now one of the world’s most famous winemaking areas this is a fitting dedication to a remarkable woman.
We recommend serving RosaMati as an aperitif in the sunshine or alongside sushi sashimi cherry tomato salads crudités Vietnamese summer rolls dumplings or meze.
Based in the Tuscan fine wine hotbed of Maremma Fattoria Le Pupille is owned and run by Elisabetta Geppetti. Since its foundation in the 1970s it has grown from 2 to 75 hectares and now sits at the pinnacle for wine production in Morelino di Scansano. With a little help from the titan of fine wine Giacomo Tachis (think Sassicaia Solaia and Tignanello) Gepetti launched her flagship Bordeaux-inspired Saffredi in 1987. Only 20 years old when she took over the family estate for three decades she has tirelessly promoted Morelino di Scansano through her showstopping wines also finding time to raise five children. A truly inspirational powerhouse.
