Located in the Apennine Mountains the climate is more Nordic than what would traditionally be considered Italian and this creates high-acid wines that mature slowly and beautifully. In 2021 Feudi di San Gregorio was awarded the Equalitas certification which officially recognises social environmental and economic pillars of sustainability through biodiversity carbon and water footprint and ecological cultivation practices. The winery in the town of Sorbo Serpico designed by the Japanese architect Hikaru Mori should be on the bucket list of any fine wine connoisseur.
