Nikka Discovery The Grain is the final release in Nikka’s Discovery series, paying homage to the past and future of the brand’s grain whisky distillation. Crafted using seven grains in a harmonious marriage from the four Nikka distilleries of Miyagikyo, Moji, Satsumatsukasa and Nishinomiya, this exquisite grain whisky has been achieved through masterful dedication to tradition and innovation.  

The blend combines Coffey grains and malts from the now closed Nishinomiya distillery as well as Coffey grain and malts from Miyagikyo, and barley grain and barley grain with corn and rye from the Moji and Satsumatsukasa distilleries, which originally specialised in Shochu production. The blend of these distinctive new grain whiskies, which incorporate shochu techniques in combination with the more traditional grain whiskies, brings us this innovative special release. Dive in to find a nose of beeswax, chamomile and roasted corn leading onto a complex creamy texture with hints of spice, nuts and oak. Bottled at 48%, this fascinating blend finds a delicate balance between strength and smoothness; one which will captivate and excite all those who try it. 

This unique and intriguing expression proudly wears a four-row pattern on its label design to highlight each of the four distilleries from which the whisky comes from.  

The Nikka Whisky Co. was founded by Masataka Taketsuru who is widely acknowledged as the father of Japanese whisky. Established in 1934, the company has two large distilleries and several blending and bottling plants and is now part of the Asahi Group.
