A Jubilee twist on one of the Queen’s favourite cocktails…
The Platinum Martini from Harvey Nichols was created in honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s record-breaking reign. Handcrafted using Portobello Road Gin (made just a couple of miles from our flagship store in Knightsbridge) Dubonnet (the monarch’s tipple of choice) orange bitters and mandarin liqueur it’s royally good.
Queen Elizabeth II’s love of Dubonnet – a blend of fortified wine herbs and spices – is well documented. Her preferred serve before lunch is said to be two parts Dubonnet and one part gin served over two ice cubes and a slice of lemon whose pesky pips have been removed. Her predilection culminated in the brand receiving a Royal Warrant in 2021.
Our riff on Her Royal Highness’ favourite swaps the slice of lemon for a little more spice and the tang of orange which should appeal to the Negroni fans out there. This cocktail will be the crowning touch to street parties and Platinum Jubilee celebrations across the land.
Contains a single serving. For fuss-free cocktail perfection simply serve it ice-cold in a chilled Martini glass. Add a twist of citrus peel to garnish if you’re feeling fancy. A side serving of coronation chicken and a corgi curled up at your feet are purely optional.
