Up next there’s a crisp and zingy Albariño. This winery came out of nowhere around 30 years ago but it’s now heralded as one of Spain’s finest producers. For the rich food lovers we have a gorgeous white Burgundy from vineyards near Pouilly-Fuissé and an elegant Pinot Noir which is made by a historic producer that owns Marlborough’s very first vineyard planted in 1873. Then for something completely different and a lot heavier there’s a silky-smooth Rioja Reserva that offers an intense hit of wild berries sweet woody spices cigar balsamic and liquorice finished with the kiss of vanilla. And finally for the big finale or a cheeseboard (you’re definitely going to want a ripe blue) we have a rich and jammy Vintage Port from 2005 made by a winery that Robert Parker once described as “the Latour of Portugal” and who hold a Royal Warrant as one of the Suppliers of Port Wine to Her Majesty The Queen.
