The Wheelwright is an old-vine Shiraz from a biodynamic vineyard that was planted in 1968 in the picturesque Eden Valley. As Matthew Jukes notes it’s a tribute to the founding father of Henschke who established the winery a century before those vines were planted. The vineyard is higher and wetter than most of the others in the Henschke estate which creates a less weighty rendition of Shiraz that tintinnabulates with high notes and dazzling elegance.
