Laudale Batch 5 Linkwood 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
This exceptionally rare Linkwood 12 Year Old was bottled by the Adelphi company – Scotland’s most acclaimed bottler of rare and limited-edition Single Malt whisky. Adelphi whiskies are both incredibly scarce and much sought-after, in no small part because on average Adelphi only accepts a mere 4% of barrels that they are offered, such are their exacting standards. Each cask matures its contents very differently, imparting its own character to the whisky it holds and, as a result, there are never two Adelphi releases that are quite the same.
This is the fifth batch from Adelphi’s Laudale range, a series that explores the richly sherried side of Scotch. It’s a 12-year-old expression from Linkwood that filled just 1,060 bottles, most of which seem to have sold out long ago. It tastes like the perfect whisky for spring and summer. You’ll discover crunchy green apples, wildflower meadows, fragrant lavender, garden herbs, violet cream chocolates, dried fruit, raw walnuts, blanched almonds, golden syrup, pepper and demerara sugar caramelising on a crème brûlée. Don’t delay if you want to secure one of these bottles as we only have a handful left.
Linkwood is a distillery in Elgin. Production started in 1824 and it is famed for creating a light and appley kind of Speyside, redolent of spring meadows and cut grass.
