Valpolicella 2020

A previous vintage of this wine to hit our shelves was described by the experts at Jancis Robinson’s Purple Pages as a “scrumptious wine. This is what simple Valpolicella should be all about.” They also featured it as the ‘Wine of the Week’ and awarded it ‘VGV’ status, meaning ‘very good value’. The new 2020 vintage of Allegrini’s Valpolicella is every bit as wonderful, making this a wine not to be missed.

This rebellious Valpolicella forwent its ‘Classico’ status (which requires a cork) so that it could be bottled under screwcap to maximise its freshness. Crunchy, vibrant and alive with red fruit, tangy cherry and spices; it’s a go-to for anything with lots of ripe tomatoes in it, potato salads laced with lemon and capers, pizza, pasta, or vegetables roasted in the oven or on the barbeque.
