Nuance de Noirs Brut Premier Cru Champagne NV - Andre Roger

Nuance de Noirs Brut Premier Cru Champagne NV

We're always on the hunt for great lesser-known Champagne, and one of our favourite recent finds is the family-owned Champagne André Roger.

Offering spectacular value for money, Nuance de Noirs is a pure Pinot Noir from exceptional Premier Cru sites. Seeing no oak, it’s matured on the lees (the spent yeast that gives Champagne its nutty, creamy and bready notes) for around 15-24 months, creating a bright Champagne that makes a wonderful aperitif. The stylish finesse of this wine is hard to match at this price, and it has sufficient body for pairing with fish and shellfish dishes.

Established by Alexis Roger in 1876, Champagne André Roger is located in the Grand Cru village of Aӱ in the Grand Vallée de la Marne. The house specialises in handmade Champagne exclusively from the Pinot Noir grape. We just love that kind of focus. It’s now run by Jean-Pol and Marie-Hélène, who began exporting their wines for the first time in 2007, and we’re so glad that they did.
