Beronia takes its name from the Berones, warrior Celts who inhabited the Rioja region in the 3rd Century BC. Suffice to say, you can expect a powerful and punchy style of red here, and one that understands its long history. Furthermore, as the winery was founded by a group of friends from a local gastronomic society, their long-aged Riojas unsurprisingly make exceptional food wines.

Beronia Rioja Crianza 2017 was matured for 12 months in oak. Young and fresh, it’s cherry-red and brimming with crunchy fruit, dried herbs, coffee, praline, cherry liqueur, Terry’s Chocolate Orange and cinnamon. This Rioja makes a fabulous choice for pairing with the Sunday roast, slow-cooked stews, lasagne, tapas and Mexican mole.
