Arzuaga Reserva Ribera del Duero 2017 - Bodegas Arzuaga

Bodegas Arzuaga

Arzuaga Reserva Ribera del Duero 2017

90 points, “Aromas of blueberries, cola, coconut, dried herbs and sandalwood. Full-bodied with polished tannins. Suave and creamy with a woody character.” – James Suckling

The Arzuaga Reserva 2017 is a blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate’s oldest vines. Matured in French oak for well over two years, it’s an explosive red with a jaw-dropping richness. Imagine black fruits, roasted nuts, smoked meat, aromatic wood, blueberry yoghurt, herbs and sweet spices, all concentrated down, polished and then wrapped up in silk; that’s the closest way we can describe the tasting experience. Definitely a wine for those who like big, oaky reds. Consider pairing it with roasts, red meat, game and dishes with fruity wine-based sauces.

Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro is a Spanish classic located in Quintanilla de Onésimo, at the very heart of the Ribera del Duero Denominación de Origen. Although only established in the 1990s, this family-run business has rapidly become one of the most prestigious wineries in the world-famous region. Their luxuriously large estate weighs in at an impressive 1,400 hectares, however there’s only 210 hectares of vines on it. That’s because the Arzuaga family believe they should coexist with nature, allowing the pines, oaks, juniper, olive trees, wild boar and deer to thrive on the remainder.
