Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2016 - Canneto

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2016

Despite being one of Tuscany's oldest estates, it's only recently that Canneto has been propelled into the elite of Montepulciano’s leading producers, following a series of flattering scores from the famous American wine critic, Robert Parker. The wines are produced organically using both traditional and modern techniques and possess a strong sense of regionality and Tuscan character. Structured yet fruit-forward, this Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a delicious red that combines brooding blackcurrant and plum flavours, with notes of tobacco, bay leaf, balsamic and dried fruits. Finely balanced on the palate with an impeccably harmonious whisper of oak, it’s at its best when paired with hearty, rustic fare and flavoursome meat dishes.

In 1987, a group of Swiss friends, who regularly holidayed in the area, decided to buy a wine estate. They loved the wines from Canneto so much, they chose this one. So, keep an eye out next time you’re on vacation.
