Casamigos Mezcal is made from 100% Espadín agave grown in Oaxaca’s Santiago Matatlán – considered the capital of Mezcal country. The hearts or piñas of the agave are split and roasted for five days in underground pits imparting the famed smokiness. These are then cooled and crushed with a horse-drawn tahona wheel made of volcanic rock. The juice is then fermented painstakingly distilled in copper pot stills and filled into these beautiful frosted bottles.
