Grand Vin Margaux 2009 - Château Brane Cantenac

Château Brane Cantenac

Grand Vin Margaux 2009

According to Decanter’s Steven Spurrier this is a wine with a “good future”, Neal Martin calls it “a top-quality Brane-Cantenac”, Jancis Robinson considers it “seamless”, and Robert Parker agrees describing it as “very approachable and silky, this suave, very sexy wine can be drunk early on as well as aged for 20+ years.” With critical acclaim like that, this Margaux from one of the regions greatest vintages is the proverbial no-brainer.

The Second Growth Château Brane-Cantenac has really ramped up its game under Henri Lurton and has now become the winery that other winemakers in the region whisper about. The wines are evocatively aromatic and the epitome of elegance, expect blackberries, raspberries, black cherry, hedgerow, distant incense spices and a floral delicacy.

A dream on its own, but also a fantastic match for roasted duck, rare lamb, wild mushrooms, truffles, aged cheeses and dauphinoise potatoes.
