Le Marquis de Calon-Ségur is the second wine of Château Calon-Ségur. Hailing from the excellent 2016 vintage and with a higher proportion of juicy Merlot than normal, it’s a dark and highly aromatic red, whose notes of balsamic, black cherry, blackberry, earthy truffles, dried herbs, coffee, orange blossom and barbeque coals are screaming out for anything chargrilled, griddle-panned or roasted. The phenomenal critic scores for this second wine demonstrate just how special it is.

To put the quality of Château Calon-Ségur in perspective, it was once owned by the Marquis de Ségur Nicolas-Alexandre. Sometimes known as the ‘Prince of Vines’, his portfolio of châteaux included Lafite Rothschild, Latour and Mouton Rothschild.
