20 Year Old Réserve des Seigneurs XO Calvados - Château du Breuil

Château du Breuil

20 Year Old Réserve des Seigneurs XO Calvados

£110.00

Réserve des Seigneurs is an incredibly special XO Calvados created using a blend of Château de Breuil’s oldest eaux-de-vie, each one at least 20 years old.

Most Calvados of this age becomes almost indistinguishable from Cognac or Armagnac, losing the apple backbone that sets it apart. But that is not the case with Château de Breuil. Yes, it has become unbelievably rich and silky smooth, but it still maintains that fresh crispness, almost like biting into an artisan toffee apple. This multi-medal-winner has also developed the most wonderful tannins that make us want to launch into it with a cheeseboard. It’s another genuinely inspired and original creation, and one not to be missed.

Based in the heart of Normandy, Château du Breuil craft some of the most world-renowned Calvados using Pays d’Auge cider apples. Double distilling, they create the smoothest and finest Calvados we’ve ever come across, which is then filled into their eye-catching bottles, laced up with string and hand-dipped in wax. With its pink tiles, criss-cross beams and carefully manicured lawns, Château du Breuil is as elegant and fine as the nectar it produces. Popping your head into the Orangery feels like entering an upturned galleon filled with barrels and heady aroma of oak and ageing spirit. This equally magical and rare example of Calvados is best sipped and savoured neat at the end of an evening or alongside an apple pie or crumble.
