Grand Vin Pomerol 1995 - Château l'Eglise-Clinet

Château l'Eglise-Clinet

Grand Vin Pomerol 1995

Robert Parker has called Château l’Eglise-Clinet 1995: “One of the vintage’s most awesome wines… This looks to be a legend in the making!”

Denis Durantou’s cult Pomerol “has constantly entranced [wine critic Neal Martin’s] senses”, having quickly become one of the region’s most sought-after wines in any vintage, and a real rival to Pétrus and Lafleur. Only around 5 hectares in size, the wine is made in tiny quantities and proves a battle to come by. Located on the plateau where soils are more gravelly, this is a concentrated and complex style of Pomerol that needs decades of careful cellaring before it unfolds its full wingspan. Luckily Harvey Nichols has done that for you…

Tangy dark berries and black plums are mingled with roasting coffee, cherry wood smoke, herbes de Provence and almost Port-like richness. This is a wine that should be saved for the most special of occasions – and a moment when you have plenty of time to linger over it.
