Having spent 24 months in oak, this magnificent Premier Cru is ready for you to unleash alongside some creamy ramen with a drizzle of sesame oil, seared scallops, buttery lemon sole or cauliflower cheese.
Although the 2015 vintage in Burgundy was a legendary one for reds, don’t underestimate the Chardonnays “especially if one values the more generous and rich styled white Burgundy” as expert Steen Öhman of Winehog advises. Those who picked early made exceptional wines, as the crisp acidity of Jean-Claude Bachelet’s biodynamic Saint-Aubin Les Champlots suggests the family did. Brothers Jean-Baptiste and Benoît have now taken over from their father Jean-Claude Bachelet. Their winery is based in the hamlet of Gamay, just next to the village of Saint-Aubin. With just ten hectares, they produce half red and half white in very small volumes, meaning that wines like this don’t hang around for long.
