Dow’s Senhora da Ribeira is a single-vineyard blend from a small estate with just 25 hectares of vines. It benefits from the warmth of the Douro Superior and creates wines using a blend of Touriga Franca Touriga Nacional and Sousão. Opening these bottlings you can expect to discover aromatic with opulent notes of blackcurrant blackberry violet and plum on the nose powerful black-fruit flavours and rich dark chocolate a minty medicinal edge and undertones of thyme crushed rocks rosemary peppery spice and coffee. Each one is powerful beautifully balanced and built to age but it’s hard to keep your hands off them especially when paired with chocolate desserts and punchy blue cheeses like creamy Stilton or Roquefort.
For over two centuries the name of Dow has been associated with some of the finest Vintage Port from the vineyards of the Upper Douro Valley.
