The multi-award-winning Churchfields Saltworks lovingly harvest their incredible salt by hand from one of the oldest and purest brine springs in the world – one that has existed beneath the spa town for millions of years. The quality of salt from Droitwich was internationally recognised back in the mid-19th Century and the industry has now been revived by locals Will and Gillian Kerton.
This sustainable business gently crystallises the natural brine using renewable energy, creating enormous crystals. The resulting Droitwich Salt is unlike any other we’ve come across and has won critical acclaim from the BBC (featuring on Countryfile, Escape to the Country and Back to the Land with Kate Humble) and Michelin star chef Brad Carter of Carters of Moseley, who has collaborated with Churchfields Saltworks to create new flavours that he uses in his restaurant.
