Chianti Classico 2017 Half Bottle 375ml

Tasting Notes
From the producers of the iconic Flaccianello della Pieve, a true Tuscan masterpiece, comes a Chianti Classico that seems to have been woven from silk.
Fontodi’s Chianti Classico is grown in a south-facing, amphitheatre-shaped valley to the south of Panzano known as Conca d’Oro, meaning the ‘Golden Shell’. Their vineyards are now organic and are farmed following biodynamic principles, creating wines of immeasurable depth. Although a Chianti Classico, Giovanni Manetti treats it like a Riserva. Revel in its sour cherry, plum crumble, blackcurrant cheesecake, leathery tobacco, orange peel and chocolate flavours and, of course, that silken texture. It combines the hallmarks of a classic Claret with Sangiovese’s inherently food-friendly nature. Decanter Magazine once noted that this is “one of Tuscany’s under-the-radar wines, but it won’t remain that way for long.
The Manetti family have owned Fontodi since 1968, but they have been in the Chianti region for centuries and are famed for their terracotta factory in Ferrone.
