Tasting Notes
It’s no secret that we love Framingham – they make our wonderful Harvey Nichols Marlborough Pinot Noir – but we thought we’d give you the opportunity to taste the wine that inspired us to ask them to make ours…
Framingham’s vegan-friendly Pinot Noir is as graceful and racy as a downhill skier in full flow. Raspberry, lavender, smoked meats, spiced plum crumble, cherry compote, graphite and cedar all wrapped up in silk. Pair this with a Sunday roast, pink lamb or duck, goulash, barbeques, roasted vegetables and lentil stews.
The Framingham label was launched in 1994, which makes them sound like relative newcomers. But they actually have some of the oldest vines in Marlborough, New Zealand, planted in 1981. Named after their ancestral home just outside Norwich in England, Framingham make the wine they want to drink. And that passion is obvious in every aromatic, food-friendly, small-batch drop they create. And that’s why New Zealand wine expert and Master of Wine, Bob Campbell, has named them his Winery of the Year in 2018 and 2019.
