Muscat Barrel Aged Organic Vodka 500ml

Introducing the first release in the Glenrinnes Distillery’s Producers’ Series.

Only 758 bottles of this highly collectable barrel-aged vodka were made. It was crafted by maturing the multi-award-winning Eight Lands Organic Speyside Vodka in Muscat wine casks. That innovative wood finishing has layered Muscat’s grapey aromas and notes of oak, vanilla, apricot sorbet and Sauternes-soaked raisins over the original vodka’s coconut cream, marzipan, butter, fired pizza dough and peppery spice flavour profile. Paired with a very dry vermouth, it creates a thrilling and summery Martini. But it can also be sipped neat after dinner or topped with tonic over ice for a refreshing alternative to a G&T.

We love the family-owned Glenrinnes Distillery. Located in Speyside, in the heart of Scotch country, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this is just another producer creating vodka and gin while they wait for the whisky to mature. But we can assure you that premium white spirits are the primary focus here.

Their Eight Lands Organic Speyside Vodka has already won Gold Medals in three categories at The Spirits Business’ Vodka Masters 2019 and received an “exceptional” five-star rating on Difford’s Guide. It’s certified organic, free from gluten and crafted using sustainably farmed barley and wheat, a two-stage fermentation process, a combination of pot and column stills, and fresh water drawn from the Clashmarloch spring, which flows past their front door at the foot of the Ben Rinnes Mountain (the name is a reference to the eight counties that can be seen from the mountain’s peak). So, anything that adds to this majesty, such as a Muscat barrel ageing, is bound to create something spectacular. Consider it the polishing of a diamond.

Inspired by the rich whisky heritage, the Glenrinnes Distillery is located between the Highlands and the River Spey, on a picturesque farm filled with woodlands and organic livestock.
