Brut Reserve 2013
While the original Gusbourne Estate dates back to 1410, it was not until Andrew Weeber took over in 2004 that winemaking started to take place. Vines were planted that same year and the first vintages of Brut Reserve and Blanc De Blancs were released in 2010. A relatively young operation, Gusbourne now stretches over 40 hectares in Kent and 22 in West Sussex, all blessed with clay and sandy loam soil, particularly well-suited to vine growing.
A Pinot-dominated blend, this Brut Reserve 13 bursts with red fruit aromas of cherry and strawberry, which then develop into attractive fresh pastry notes with a touch of cinnamon and spice. With a bright streak of citrus fruit, the palate is clean and fresh with a long, moreish finish. Perfect on its own or to accompany canapés, it can also be enjoyed alongside sushi, tuna tartar or a mushroom risotto.
