While the original Gusbourne Estate dates back to 1410, it was not until Andrew Weeber took over in 2004 that winemaking started to take place. Vines were planted that same year and the first vintages of Brut Reserve and Blanc De Blancs were released in 2010. A relatively young operation, Gusbourne now stretches over 40 hectares in Kent and 22 in West Sussex, all blessed with clay and sandy loam soil, particularly well-suited to vine growing.
Made 100% from Pinot Noir, this delicate salmon tinted Brut Rosè is extremely varietal. The nose bursts with aromas of strawberry, raspberry and cranberry, with subtle floral notes. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and juicy with flavours of crushed summer berries, dark cherry, red apple and nectarine. The finish is elegant, lifted and satisfyingly long. An extremely serious rosè, that would be best enjoyed alongside smoked salmon, duck or truffle based dishes.
