Rouge Vin de Pays d'Oc 2017

Our flagship red wine hails from the Corbières region in southern France where it is produced for us by one of the region’s finest wineries, Ollieux Romanis. The donkey, as pictured on the front label, goes by the name of Dédé, and is a family pet as well as being a long standing part of the team at this impressive estate.

The wine itself is produced from low yielding vineyards around the Corbières appellation and is a blend of Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Merlot together with a splash of the indigenous variety - Alicante - which adds bouquet and colour to the wine.

Unoaked and fruit-driven in style, our Vin de Pays d’oc rouge is medium ruby-red in colour with an attractive sweetly perfumed nose suggestive of blackberry, cherry, herbs and roast coffee. Medium bodied and freshly balanced, it serves up flavours of juicy dark fruit and liquorice together with subtle smoky, savoury nuances. Ripe, round and softly proportioned, it is delicious to drink on its own but also pairs up well with red meat, charcuterie and cheese.
