It’s just the kind of wine you want to open up with a takeaway pizza, barbeques, movie night or Sunday roast with friends and family.
Behn Payten and Troy Jones make wine in the Yarra Valley with a little help from Behn’s dad Peter – a man who managed Australia’s very first organic vineyard. They sell most of their wines out of their cellar door just across the road from our friends at the Four Pillars Distillery. The wines might be a little murky and cast a bit of sediment, but these are super fun, edgy, honest and natural wines. They’re not trying to be the new Burgundy or Bordeaux, they’re born and bred Australian and meant to be quaffed. As they put it, you “can’t do $100 bottles of fizz every night of the week can you?”
