Made in Guatamala from the finest “virgin” sugar cane and following distillation in a single column still Ron Zacapa XO Year Old is matured slowly at a staggering 2 300 metres above sea level in a “solera-system” manner which brings balance and imparts complexity to the spirit. In addition Ron Zacapa XO acquires an additional element of sophistication and roundness from a final “resting” period in French oak barrels. The resultant rum is gloriously rich forward and indulgent displaying a plethora of honey raisin treacle and nutmeg flavours set amongst a full luxurious texture and sweet indulgent backdrop. This limited edition rum comes beautifully packaged in a highly collectable embossed pyramid shape glass decanter.
