“One of the chicest sustainable innovations I’ve seen – almost too beautiful to open.” – Hazel Byrne London Editor of Vanity Fair

Always a Champagne house on the cutting edge Ruinart usher in a new era of luxury eco-packaging with Second Skin. This Rosé Champagne comes in a glove-like covering that’s made of natural wood fibres from eco-managed forests in Europe (so zero air freight) it’s 100% recyclable it’s one ninth of the weight of a traditional gift box (better for shipping) and its production creates a 40% lower carbon footprint and uses 9% less water than required by conventional packaging. And it looks so much more stylish.

Ruinart is the oldest established Champagne house exclusively producing Champagne since 1729. Although not as high profile as other Champagne houses since the 1940s Ruinart has become synonymous with excellence and a firm favourite with Champagne aficionados and world-class sommeliers.

Ruinart’s Rosé NV is one of the most enchanting examples of its type on the market with its distinctive and elegant bottle based on the original 18th Century version. In the glass the wine reveals a delicate pomegranate colour with very light orange reflections a light effervescence with a persistent ring of beads. The intriguing nose is reminiscent of freshly gathered red fruit adorned with soft floral and exuberant tropical fruit fragrances and sharpened by several spicy notes. The blending technique with a short maceration and a light extraction of grapes made into red wine preserves the aromas and offers a silky voluptuous palate with little tannin thus making it ethereal and highly enjoyable. Ruinart Rosé is a delight to drink throughout a meal and it will be enhanced by thin slices of fine Italian prosciutto smoked salmon or salmon tataki. It can also withstand stronger meats like lamb or duck. An exquisite gift idea and a Champagne that’s assured to enhance any celebratory occasion.

The grapes grown on Ruinart’s vineyards are sustainably produced promoting biodiversity reducing water consumption and lowering their carbon footprint. They use 100% green energy to produce their wines recycle 99.8% of their waste operate a ‘zero plane policy’ for their commercial transport and there’s so much more to their story. This is an inspiring Champagne house keeping an environmentally friendly eye on the future.
