Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Founded in 1982 by the Skalli family, St. Supéry Estate was bought by the fashion house Chanel in 2015 (joining the likes of Château Rauzan-Ségla and Château Canon), making this a very stylish wine indeed.
A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc from St. Supéry’s Rutherford and Dollarhide vineyards, that’s then aged in French oak for 20 months. It erupts from the glass with blackberry, raspberry, cassis, star anise, clove, liquorice, black olive, toasted oak and smoky coffee. Wonderful proof that you can make an eco-friendly wine that’s brimming with opulence, luxury and a touch of the exotic.
Located in Rutherford in the very heart of Napa Valley, St. Supéry Estate Vineyards and Winery is a 100% estate grown, certified Napa Green and dedicated to sustainability in every aspect of their farming and winemaking. They only plant vineyards on one third of their land to promote biodiversity, they’ve installed over 100 bird boxes, they create compost with the leftover grape skins, seeds and stems, they get around 80% of their energy from solar panels, their bottles are made from recycled glass, they have their own culinary garden for their catering, you name it, they’re doing it. An excellent winery and an example to all around it.
