In 1969 Manuel Torres and his wife Ángeles Medel opened a potato crisp stand near the beach at Premià de Mar, just outside Barcelona. Their sons took over and now create crisps using the best potatoes on the Iberian Peninsula and salt from evaporated sea water. They only began exporting in 2007, so the fact their crisps are so well known is a testament to their quality.
