Brut Traditional 10 - Wiston Estate

Wiston Estate

Brut Traditional 10

Owned by the Goring family since 1743, Wiston Estate was converted into a 16 acres vineyard in 2006, following the vision of Pip Goring. The estate is now run according to a strict philosophy of sustainability, with no herbicides sprayed on the soil. The outmost respect for nature and the work of award-winning winemaker Dermot Sugrue make ensures no effort is spared in order to produce some of the best English Sparkling Wines available today. The fruit for their vintage range is sourced exclusively from the family’s vineyards, located on the south facing chalk slopes of the South Downs in Sussex.

The vintage cuvee is Wiston flagship wine, the one that really embodies the finesse and complexity of the house. The nose is fresh and lively, with notes of white flowers, acacia, white fruits and brioche. The textured palate is precise and linear, sporting a lovely, creamy mousse and a vivacious acidity. The precise structure and the abundance of primary fruit flavours will allow the wine to age gracefully over the next decade. Delicious on its own, the 2010 can accompany perfectly truffle-based dishes, seared scallops as well as fresh fruits de mer.
