EVERYDAY HEROES
Eight brands to give your wardrobe a brand-new lease on life.
1. NORSE PROJECTS

The one for functional Scandi style.
SHOP NORSE PROJECTS
Born out of the Norse Store boutique in Copenhagen, Norse Projects has developed its own line of trans-seasonal clothing. Designs are characterised by a functional approach, unfussy aesthetic and high-quality fabrics; the label’s pure-cotton striped T-shirts are a perpetual crowd pleaser. All clothing is tailored to Scandi proportions, making it a perfect fit for those with a tall, slender figure who often find that sleeves and hemlines fall short.
2. COLOURFUL STANDARD

The one for bright and bold basics.
SHOP NOW
Colour can feel like Kryptonite to some, but those branching out from black should call on Colourful Standard. You won’t find Superman-style red pants over blue spandex here; just an edit of T-shirts, sweats and hoodies in a spectrum of shades. On a mission to not only brighten up your wardrobe but make the world a better place, the brand makes every garment from 100% organic cotton so you can feel as good as you look.
3. RAG & BONE

The one for downtown New York edge.
SHOP RAG & BONE
Friends David Neville and Marcus Wainwright started New York-based brand Rag & Bone in 2002. The concept, a fusion of Anglo-inspired tailoring with an urban aesthetic, has remained a constant in their relaxed, wearable collections. Checked shirts, coach jackets and shorts come in sharp blue – a colour that’s easily layered with the label’s core styles.
4. ELEVENTY

The one for relaxed Italian tailoring.
SHOP ELEVENTY
Founded in 2007, Eleventy is a young gun on the Italian-tailoring scene and is new to Harvey Nichols for AW19. What sets the brand apart is its relaxed approach, adapting the nation’s sartorial heritage to suit modern men. Light grey is the season’s continuity colour, with pleated and drawstring trousers exemplifying the formal and casual blend – wear them to work with an untucked shirt to cover the waist, or a colour-pop sweatshirt at brunch.
5. NN07

The one for worldly-wise adventurers.
SHOP NN07
Copenhagen natives Victor Lindh and Ulrik Pedersen founded NN07 after a blazing discussion at a bar. Their mission? To create universal styles for the contemporary globetrotter: ‘NN’ stands for ‘no nationality’ and ‘07’ is the year the brand was born. The label shoots each collection in a new location, with ‘journeys’ ranging from Cape Town to Kyoto, Havana to Helsinki. Expect fresh linen jackets and Oxford shirts that are built to last.
6. HUGO BOSS

The one for elevated essentials.
SHOP HUGO BOSS
At the risk of perpetuating a cliché: German brand Hugo Boss is the epitome of efficiency. Sharp tailoring, premium staples and a colour palette that’s easy to put together or pair with your existing wardrobe... it just works. It was a no-brainer to bring the brand back into the Harvey Nichols menswear arsenal, with a strong showing to take your edit from average Joe to übermensch.
7. SUNSPEL

The one for British-crafted classics.
SHOP SUNSPEL
Sunspel has the distinction of being the only label on this list to dress an international man of mystery: James Bond. Known for its timeless styles, the men’s outfitter found new fame when its 50s-era Riviera polo shirt was worn by Daniel Craig (as the dapper 007) in the 2006 film Casino Royale. Founded in 1860, the brand has been producing clothing in Long Eaton since 1937; its natural-fibre essentials are what make the label fit for Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
8. POLO RALPH LAUREN

The one for preppy icons.
SHOP POLO RALPH LAUREN
Ralph Lauren’s debut Polo collection in 1967 single-handedly created the concept of label as lifestyle. Evoking classic American looks, the mix of sportswear and tailoring has proved an alluring vision ever since. Heroes include Oxford button-downs, piqué polo shirts and cotton chinos, while retro sports styles and casualwear in coordinated army green reflect the brand’s contemporary urban appeal.
