93 points “Katharina Prüm’s 2020 Bernkasteler Badstube Kabinett is truly a beautiful and utterly classical example of its Prädikat. The refined bouquet wafts from the glass in a complex blend of apple tart pear wild yeasts a lovely base of slate spring flowers and just a whisper of savoury tones in the upper register. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied vibrant and zesty with beautiful filigree and mineral undertow excellent acids and grip and a long seamlessly balanced and perfectly focused complex finish. Utterly classic.” – John Gilman

This Bernkasteler Badstube Kabinett is textbook Riesling. It comes from a vineyard tucked behind the old town of Bernkastel-Kues on the Mosel. It was named after the public baths once located in the area. And we'd happily bathe in it! Mouth-watering acidity a touch of sweetness that summer-lunch-friendly 8% ABV and oodles of finesse. Crunchy pear juicy peach tangy grapefruit green apple herbs earthy spices blossom pizza dough and joy in every sip. Consider pairing with coconut-based curries summer lunches spicy tacos katsu poached fish in creamy sauces smoked sausages and any dish accompanied by apple sauce.

Founded in 1911 Joh. Jos. Prüm (also known simply as JJ Prüm) is arguably one of the most iconic German producers. The estate stretches for 33.5 hectares alongside the Mosel Valley and the family have been cultivating vines along the banks of the Mosel since the 17th Century. Renowned for the pure and exceptionally long-lived expression of Riesling they create from the most prestigious vineyards and predominantly ungrafted vines the estate is now managed by Dr. Manfred Prüm and his daughter Dr. Katharina Prüm.
