Hors d’Âge means ‘beyond age’ and denotes that although this is an X.O. it has been aged for much longer than required. The youngest components in this blend are 30 years old but some are centenarians.
What we love about Cognac Leyrat – which was founded in 1850 and is now run by Francis Abécassis and his daughter Elodie – is the comparatively good value for money it offers against the more famous names in the region. This is a perfect example offering up waves of spicy wood nutty pastries marmalade floral honey brioche gingerbread crème caramel walnut baklava autumn leaves Werther’s Originals vanilla nutmeg and a twist of pepper.
