92 points “This is one of the best Pinot Noirs I’ve tried from the UK… Very stylish and quite elegant.” – Dr Jamie Goode WineAnorak.com

Litmus Red Pinot Noir has been hailed by The Independent as one of the “best English red wines” and that was before they released this. 2018 is widely acknowledged to be one the greatest vintages ever in England making this probably one the finest still red wines the country has created.

100% Pinot Noir grown in Kent and aged for 19 months in old oak barrels the only bad news is that it’s made in tiny quantities. The good news is that we’ve got some and it’s brimming with ripe red cherry strawberry raspberry woody mulling spices and something akin to an autumn walk in a forest of oak and pine trees. Weather permitting it’s a perfect partner for a barbeque. But it works equally well with duck pizza tomato-based pasta or herb-roasted vegetables and would be a fine choice for turkey and all the trimmings at Christmas.

Australian John Worontschak has been making wine in England since 1988. Following stints working at Aussie legends such as Penfolds Yalumba and Campbells of Rutherglen he and his family settled in Notting Hill Gate. He makes wines at Denbies Wine Estate consults all over the world and is a panel chairman at the International Wine Challenge. He created Litmus – who focus on still wine – to try and steer English wine towards a more complex balanced and sophisticated style.
