Inspired by the laid-back attitude of Ibiza’s bohemian heyday, the second LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza collection looks to the hippie haven of yesteryear as a source of sun-drenched inspiration.

Situated in the cobbled streets of Ibiza’s Old Town, Paula’s boutique was at the forefront of island style from 1972-2000. The cult destination blended romantic Mediterranean glamour with playful prints and carefree charm, a trademark style still pulsing through the party island. Frequented by disco denizens such as Donna Summer and Freddie Mercury, Paula’s was famed for its theatrical fashion shows as well as its flower-filled interior.

Set to a soundtrack that spanned Diana Ross, Etta James and Fats Domino, the second campaign for this collaborative collection was shot by Gray Sorrenti - daughter of Mario – against New Orleans’ vibrant cityscape. The images are a celebration of festivity, of music and friendship and youth – qualities also found on the sandy coves and coastal haunts of Ibiza.

Retro beach motifs punctuate this seaside selection from the Spanish powerhouse and celebrated Balearic boutique. Swirled with whimsy, make mermaids, flags and fauna your holiday playmates.

Paula’s expansive archive of fantastical prints served as a starting point for the collection as Anderson plucked key patterns from the boutique’s repertoire. Today, we see the mermaid, circus and plumetis prints reimagined in shades of aqua, azure and sea foam.

Styled in Sorrenti’s campaign with clusters of coral jewellery and cartoonish seashells, Paula’s iconic prints are infused with LOEWE’S design signatures; giving a new lease of life to the 70s graphics. Saturated in summery nostalgia, the collection’s masterful patterns are ripe for your getaway wardrobe.

Riffing off the coastal quirkiness, we also see multicoloured combinations of prints – from patchwork and shimmering sequins to deckchair stripes, it’s time to take delight in a plethora of pattern.

Begging the question, why have one print when you can have two, three or thirty? Anderson delivers a cacophony of multi-patterned pieces. Styles nod to the enduring legacy of hippie-inflicted charm so synonymous with the island while offering a luxury take on summer’s perennial trend, bohemia.

Stripes are set against rustic materials, adding to the overall nautical feel of the collection. A recurring feature in LOEWE’s Paula’s Ibiza collection, patchwork returns with ever more eccentricity. Let boho adornments add to the jigsaw effect – piles of bangles and a sweep of bronzer add that sun-kissed finish, while the lookbook styled scarves for extra texture. For a city-ready take, let patchwork pieces breathe and keep accessories to a minimal, anchoring the look with a structured tote and leather mules.

Master the art of layering and give a nod to the laid-back allure of Ibiza’s hippie haven days with an array of pared-back separates and playful finishing touches.

Arts and crafts techniques – a returning theme for Anderson – permeates this sun-soaked offering as sparkling sequins and wooden beads raise humble textiles into the luxury sphere. For a softer take on the festival-ready styles pair printed accents, such as the ultra-versatile motif scarves, with your everyday arsenal.

Drawing on the Spanish house’s leather heritage, Anderson – who has been credited with transforming archive styles into cult pieces – scatters the collection with reimagined signature designs. Splashed with exclusive Paula’s Ibiza prints, which have been cherry-picked by Anderson, the decorative line-up cements LOEWE’s status as an accessories powerhouse.
