Blended with precision care and immense craftsmanship this whisky contains primarily malted barley from Miyagikyo in Honsh? and Yoichi in Hokkaid? built over a base of Coffey Still grain whisky. The result is a gloriously focussed rounded and seamless expression which combines the best elements of these historic distilleries.
Beautifully fruity on the nose it presents orchard fruits apricots and peaches all drizzled with honey and scattered with chocolate-coated orange peel. The palate is a trip to the bakery with notes of almond croissant panettone brioche pain au chocolat and hot cross buns followed by green apples and pears supplied by the Miyagikyo malt and a slight whiff of peat from the Yoichi. We like the cut of this stylish whisky very much indeed.
