Star of The Wire, Luther and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Londoner Idris Elba is an actor, an activist, a DJ and proud owner of the super-premium wine brand, Porte Noire. The 2021 vintage of this stunning Côtes do Provence Rosé sits alongside the house’s existing range of the 2019 vintage rosé and the two champagnes: The Petite Porte and the vintage Grand Cru, which can both be found at Harvey Nichols.
This stunning Côtes de Provence was crafted at Château Sainte Marguerite – a family-owned winery surrounded by palm trees in the coastal village of Varois. Created using the finest organically farmed Grenache and Cinsault grapes, we see this vintage building on the creaminess and structure of the 2019 edition with heady notes of passionfruit, peach sorbet, orange peel, pink grapefruit and salty sea spray and a strong backbone of acidity. The elegance and finesse of this supreme rosé reveals a symphony of pleasure for the taste buds – it’s no wonder it won Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2020.
Served chilled, this crisp rosé is the perfect accompaniment to long lazy days in the sunshine, romantic occasions or Mediterranean and Moroccan feasts with freshly caught fish and seafood.
