We asked Andrew Duncan, our expert Wine Buyer, to explain what makes each wine in this stellar line up so special.

Harvey Nichols Sancerre 2022 (France)

“We are so lucky at Harvey Nichols to have our name across this lovely Sancerre – a classic example of one of France’s most iconic wines. Our Sancerre has real pedigree as it’s produced by the partnership between Domaine Gérard Fiou and Henri Bourgeois. It hails from the heart of the region, using low-yielding old vines grown on the famous flinted hillsides and receives six months of lees ageing, to lend weight and concentration.” - Andrew Duncan

This sensational Sancerre, with citrus aromas and just a hint of minerality, is a go to when looking to serve goats’ cheese, white meat, seafood, green salads and tempura vegetables. The refreshing acidity and smoky minerality of this French wine provides balance and allows the complexity and flavour of food to shine through. A year-round staple and one to always have chilled in the fridge.

Harvey Nichols Eden Valley Riesling 2021 (Australia)

“Harvey Nichols Eden Valley Riesling is made exclusively for us by Elena Brooks at award-winning Dandelion Vineyards, with the grapes being grown on venerable old, gnarled vines, dating back to 1910. Completely bone dry, the vegan friendly white wine is delicate and crisp, and its racy acidity cuts through fatty, deep-fried food wonderfully but also partners particularly well with spicy dishes.” - Andrew Duncan

Expect dancing notes of lemon sorbet, crunchy green apple, candied citrus peel, jasmine, lily, floral honey, dried herbs and chalky talcum powder finishing with a delicious salty minerality. At just 11% ABV, this Australian wine is perfect for weeknights or long evening with friends.

Harvey Nichols Pecorino 2022 (Italy)

“We love working with passionate people and Cìu Cìu estate are very passionate. Along with a group of dedicated local winemakers they rescued this recently rediscovered low-yielding variety from extinction. Made entirely from fruit grown on their organic vineyards, the grapes are hand-harvested and naturally fermented in medium-sized oak barrels, with an additional six months resting on the lees to impart rich complexity and texture.” - Andrew Duncan

The refreshing and fragrant Italian wine delivers aromas of jasmine and lemon blossom leading to ripe peach, apricot and subtle spice on the palate. Pecorino’s stunning, delicate flavours make it ideal as an aperitivo or served alongside antipasti, seafood and light pasta dishes and to top it all off it’s completely vegan friendly.

Harvey Nichols Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2023 (New Zealand)

Bursting with juicy, luscious tropical fruit and zesty, tangy acidity, our Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a brilliant addition to a wine fridge and one that proves always to be a winner. Andrew Duncan describes this New Zealand white wine as “a great example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, with the best fruit used alongside a little judicious barrel ageing and extensive lees stirring to achieve richness, complexity and length”.

The wine has been exclusively produced for Harvey Nichols by one of New Zealand’s most historic producers, the award-winning Auntsfield Estate. With grapes picked from vines grown in a mix of high mineral rock and low fertility clay soils, the wines produced are riper in style with more structure, texture and minerality.

Harvey Nichols Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc 2021 (South Africa)

Harvey Nichols Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc is made exclusively for us by DeMorgenzon, which is described by Andrew Duncan as having “probably the most beautiful vineyards in the world.” He goes on to say that “the estates’ vines are hit by the first morning sun of the Cape and with high altitude cooling ocean breezes, they make our perfect aromatic, satin-textured Chenin Blanc.”

Naturally fermented with wild yeasts in a combination of stainless steel and just a little French oak, this succulent and silky South African white wine reveals floral notes with delicate aromas of green apple and white peach and hints of acacia honey.

Harvey Nichols Aconcagua Chardonnay 2019 (Chile)

This cool-climate South American Chardonnay originates from one of Chile’s northernmost wine regions; an area dominated by the beautiful snow-capped peak of Mount Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Americas. It’s produced on the 150-year-old Errázuriz Estate, where Pacific breezes meet the foothills of the Andes, and these heavenly conditions perfectly suit the Chardonnay grapes.

This Chilean wine is fermented in French oak barrels, 20% of which were brand new casks, where it remained maturing on the fine lees for ten months. Its golden hue meets aromas of grapefruit, lemon, papaya, pineapple and melon. More citrus and tropical fruit, combined with hints of dried fruit and almond croissants, delivers a well-balanced palate leading to a long and rounded finish.

Harvey Nichols Premium Rioja Reserva 2015 (Spain)

“Powerful and seductive, complex, and silky-smooth” – Andrew Duncan

Produced by the prestigious Bodegas Ramón Bilbao, our Premium Range Rioja Reserva is one for those who love the region's tradition. Powerful and seductive, like all the best Spanish red wines, this spectacular Rioja is a blend of 90% Tempranillo with the remaining 10% spread between the Mazuelo and Graciano grapes. It’s been aged in American oak for 20 months and matured in the bottle for a further 20 months.

Bursting with coconut sweetness, floral notes, spiced plum crumble, red fruits, wild herbs and woody cumin, it excels with a little aeration and pairs well with Sunday roasts, meat dishes and strong cheeses. We only have a limited run of 3000 bottles, so be sure to grab one before it’s too late.

Harvey Nichols Douro Red 2019 (Portugal)

“Made for us by our old friends at Quinta De La Rosa using classic local varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, from the estate’s oldest vineyards, located high above the Douro Valley.” – Andrew Duncan

Vinified gently and traditionally, the resulting Douro red wine displays notes of dark cherry fruit, brambles, chocolate, coffee and spice, supported by supple tannins and a touch of oak. Fans of Malbec looking for something a little closer to home will find much to love here. Big, bold and slightly more unusual, it’s a perfect companion to drink with meat dishes, charcuterie or cheese.

Harvey Nichols Premium Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (USA)

“A sublimely modern and polished red, with an opulent and bold combination of dark berries, chocolate and spice.” - Andrew Duncan

Napa Valley legend Joseph Phelps has produced our Harvey Nichols Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and with its maturation of 14 months in old French and American oak barrels, this impressive red combines the powerful flavours of dark berries and chocolate with graphite and spice. It is a limited-edition line so grab it whilst it’s hot, you won’t be disappointed.

Harvey Nichols Tupungato Malbec 2019 (Argentina)

Andrew Duncan explains that this Tupungato Malbec is “lovingly made for us by winemaker Stephen Huse, of the prestigious Belhara Estate which is nestled in Argentina’s Uco Valley.” Produced from grapes grown on some of the world’s highest vineyards in the Andes, these exceptional vines have produced a sensual, elegant wine full of dark fruit flavours combined with notes of chocolate, cinnamon, black pepper and sophisticated oak. Dark and silky, this Argentinian red more than stands up to big stews, grilled meats and strong cheeses.
