Lucente is the second wine of Tenuta Luce the Tuscany-meets-Napa superstar created by the Frescobaldi family and Robert Mondavi. An early-drinking introduction to this incredible Sangiovese and Merlot producer this wine is a must in any vintage. Crème de cassis black cherry raspberry wild strawberry lavender vanilla coffee beans and toasted oak; this is a fabulous red to serve alongside hearty fare red meat and robust pasta dishes. And it better be robust because you’ve got a whole magnum to get through.
The superstar Frescobaldi family supplied wine to Michelangelo and Henry VIII long before dazzling the world with the likes of Ornellaia Masseto CastelGiocondo and many more. So there was great excitement when Vittorio Frescobaldi teamed up with California’s iconic producer Robert Mondavi to create Luce della Vite in 1995 now known as Tenuta Luce. The grapes came from vineyards in Montalcino next to the Frescobaldi’s CastelGiocondo estate and the wines have stunned the world ever since.
