Matured exclusively in Oloroso Sherry-seasoned casks from Jerez for 25 long years, this is one of the whisky world’s true greats. Released in 2023, the 25 Year Old Sherry Oak forms part of the Macallan Sherry Oak range and is exactly what Macallan does best. Nosing reveals dried orange slices, raisins, sultanas and apricot with ginger syrup and oak, while on the palate are rich dried fruits, black cherries and chocolate with crystallised ginger and toasted almonds; it’s not hard to see why this has such a cult following and why a previous release received a perfect 100 out of 100 score from the Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago plus countless Gold Medals in other competitions.
