91 points “An unusual blend for the Médoc of Merlot and Cabernet Franc this wine comes from a Rothschild vineyard next door to its Château Clarke. The wine is balanced richly perfumed and spicy with swathes of black-currant fruit and ripe tannins.” – Wine Enthusiast

The Rothschild family gave the world the First Growths Château Lafite Rothschild and Château Mouton Rothschild so anything that carries their name is worth a closer look especially when it comes in an original wooden case of six. Château Malmaison a vineyard in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation bought and restored to its former glory by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1978 is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. Edmond loved the property so much he named it after his wife which is why you’ll see the name Baronne Nadine de Rothschild beneath the vintage on the label.

And what a vintage 2015 was. Respected critic and Master of Wine Jeannie Cho Lee went as far as to “compare it to 2005 and 2009 in quality” Decanter Magazine noted that “several châteaux have arguably made the best ever wines” and Steven Spurrier announced that “Bordeaux is back.” So with the Rothschild’s know-how and a spectacular year this case of six Château Malmaison 2015 is a wonderful find.
