Torabhaig is only the second licensed Single Malt Scotch distillery on the Isle of Skye the other being the ever-popular Talisker which was established almost 190 years earlier.
The 2017 Legacy Series was the inaugural release from this exciting new producer and sold out immediately receiving rave reviews across the board. Allt Gleann is the highly anticipated second whisky in the series and only the second bottling ever made available from the distillery.
Drawn from around 30 casks that were filled with spirit distilled from heavily peated Concerto and Laureate malted barley in 2017 and 2018 Allt Gleann captures the coastal magic of Skye. It’s rugged smoky and feels like it has been lashed by the stormy sea. Expect earthy peat smoke medicinal character tobacco Arbroath smokie on the harbourside those oily and salty Marcona almonds the smoke of burning heather marshmallows toasted on a bonfire lemon pepper buttery shortbread lime apple crumble and apricot pastries. Much like its predecessor Allt Glean is exceptionally complex for such a young whisky and is likely to be snapped up by collectors because the distillery has already run out.
