Villa Sparina was founded by the Moccagatta family in the 1970s. The shape of their super-cute bottles was designed by Giacomo Bersanetti and inspired by an ancient vase found during the renovation of their winery in Piedmont.
The Barbera of Monferrato is bottled joy. It’s bright ruby red in colour with an intensely perfumed nose and lots of juicy raspberry flavours and notes of balsamic. Fresh and soft it makes for the most wonderful summer sipping. The hills around the winery are full of boar and truffles which is well worth considering when choosing a food match.
