We’ve been trying to track down some of this for you for ages. And now we’ve finally landed some of the outstanding but rare 4 Year Old Willett Family Estate Bottled Rye Whiskey.
Just a phenomenal bottling that seems to combine the classic spice of rye with the nutty fruity moreishness of Bourbon. Only the finest barrels make it into this cask-strength small-batch whiskey and it just erupts from the glass with Bakewell tart heavily toasted oak cherry cola crème brûlée cherry chocolate liqueurs Christmas spices toffee dried apricots burnt flapjack and green peppercorns. This is a dram that punches well above its age and its price point and is not to be missed.
John David Willett was born in 1841 and became a Kentucky distiller of considerable repute. The family have followed in his footsteps ever since building their very own distillery shortly after the repeal of Prohibition. The popularity of Willett Distillery which is also responsible for the joys of Rowan’s Creek Noah’s Mill Kentucky Vintage and Johnny Drum has rocketed to cult status over recent years making it very hard to come by.
