818 Tequila Blanco is crafted at a state-of-the-art distillery in Amatitán, Mexico. Blue agave is allowed to grow and ripen for around seven years in the Los Altos and Valles regions. The piñas (or hearts) are then harvested, cooked for 30 hours, crushed with a traditional Tahona wheel, fermented for 48 hours and finally distilled on an alembic copper pot still. Although this is a Blanco, it’s briefly rested in oak barrels for three weeks to layer in creamy vanilla notes and round out any sharp edges. The result is a super-smooth Tequila with aromas of lemongrass, wildflowers and chamomile, accompanied by flavours of sweet agave, mille-feuille, melon, lime, herbs, toasted coconut and creamy marzipan. Use this in classic Tequila cocktails like a Paloma or a Margarita, or sip it alongside Thai food, homemade tacos or dishes from Veracruz.
818 Tequila is named after the San Fernando Valley area code in Los Angeles – Kendall Jenner’s home.
