While most Scottish distilleries like to paint a picture of bucolic bliss or the remote wilderness Auchentoshan is a touch more urban. Not far from the tower blocks and tarmac of Glasgow they make their whisky a little differently. Every drop is triple distilled giving a lighter smoother and more floral character than most of their counterparts. This malt is decidedly summery – not one for when it’s pure Baltic – and will appeal to fans of Irish whisky.
